A crypto take-profit alert plan you can step away from
Write down your milestones before you need them. Separate an alert from a trade, plan optional sale amounts, and choose when reminders should stop.
Start by separating an alert from a sell order
A crypto take-profit alert tells you a target you chose was observed. A sell order asks a trading venue to execute a trade under its own rules. MyBagAlert provides alerts: it does not connect to your exchange, hold funds, execute trades or assume that you sold after opening an email.
That distinction lets you use the app as a reminder for your own plan. It also means an alert cannot lock in an execution price. The market can change between the provider’s observation, delivery of the email and any action you take.
You can set targets without telling MyBagAlert how much you hold or what you paid. If you choose to include figures, optional sale plans can add context to the reminder.
Write down the milestones you already want to watch
Begin with the question you want the email to answer. Is it “has one token reached this price?” or “has the circulating market cap reached this valuation?” Use the corresponding target metric and make the currency explicit.
You can save several targets for the same bag. For example, a hypothetical plan might watch 2.00 USD and 3.00 USD per token. These are independent targets, not instructions to buy, hold or sell. Choose your own numbers based on your circumstances.
- Add the bag and verify your email. Check the asset’s name and symbol.
- Create the first price or market-cap target. Enter the threshold and currency you mean to monitor.
- Choose one email or repeat reminders. Make the notification fit the decision you expect to make.
- Add further targets on the bag’s detail page. Each target keeps its own threshold and reminder setting.
Targets are checked against fresh observations. If several thresholds are already met when they are created, more than one can trigger. The app does not wait for a fresh upward crossing from below.
To replace a milestone, pause its old target and create a new one. A paused target remains saved, which helps distinguish a plan you have stopped watching from one that is active.
Add planned sale amounts only if they help you
Work out a scenario first with the public partial take-profit ladder calculator. It shows proceeds, profit on sold tokens and the remaining balance without saving your quantities or buy price to an account.
Accounts start in alerts-only mode. Choose Include my figures if you want to enter quantities and attach a planned sale quantity or percentage to a target.
For example, suppose you enter a holding of 1,000 hypothetical tokens and choose a 10% sale plan for a target. That target’s planned amount is 100 tokens. The percentage is resolved against the quantity when the target is created; editing your bag later does not silently recalculate that saved plan.
Before acting, check the amount against your actual remaining balance and any other plans. Multiple independent targets can contain sale amounts that overlap. MyBagAlert does not reserve tokens, reconcile an exchange balance or automatically reduce the quantities planned at your other targets.
Turning figure sharing off removes saved holding quantities, purchase costs and planned sale amounts from the account while preserving the target thresholds. Optional estimated profit uses the current holding and your average buy price; it is not a record of realised profit from previous trades.
Choose what should happen after the first email
Use one email only if a single notification is enough. Otherwise, choose reminders every hour, every six hours or daily. Repeat reminders refer to the recorded target event. They do not say the market is still above your target.
| Action | What it means |
|---|---|
| Acknowledge | Stop reminders for this event. No sale is recorded. |
| Snooze | Delay reminders for 24 hours. |
| Pause target | Stop monitoring and reminders for that target. |
| Rearm target | Allow a new alert cycle, including when a fresh observation is already above the threshold. |
| Archive bag | Stop its targets and reminders. |
Acknowledgement is useful when you have read the message and want the reminders to stop, whether you traded or chose to do nothing. It should not be used as a substitute for updating your holding after an actual sale.
Update the bag after you act
If you sell and share figures, update the holding quantity separately. Review the remaining targets and their planned sale amounts. If you no longer want a bag watched, archive it. MyBagAlert does not maintain a transaction ledger or calculate tax results.
You can also enable daily, weekly or monthly portfolio-review emails in Settings. Those are a separate choice from target alerts and can stay off if you only want milestone notifications.
Before stepping away, confirm that your email is verified, your target is active, and the dashboard shows current monitoring information. Prices are checked periodically, so brief moves can be missed. An email records when a qualifying observation occurred; it is not confirmation of an available trading price.
For the mechanics of a single threshold, read the price-alert guide. If a milestone is based on a project’s valuation, read market cap vs price alerts before choosing the metric.
